Our postgraduate community

Our postgraduate community

– In terms of the postgrad facilities, in
the Library you do have your own section, which I use quite a bit. And they
have a little station that GSA run, which is the Graduate Students’ Association,
where they have like tea and coffee. – I’ve found great community within my course mates that I’m with at the moment on the Masters course. I’ve met people from all
across the world, of different ages and backgrounds, and that’s been an amazing
opportunity. – I think the postgraduate community at
York is really unique because we’ve got the Graduate Students’ Association and
other facilities like the Humanities Research Centre and the Berrick Saul
Building. There’s just a lot more opportunity to sort of mix with other
postgraduates, to a talk amongst peers, discuss your
own research and just to sort of have fun. – Postgraduates at the University
of York also have the representation from the Graduate Students’ Association, who are a special student union, who represent Masters and PhD students. There is even
more access to resources for support, be it for study, be it for wellbeing and
any sort of help that Masters students want.
