Justin Trudeau answers a question about income inequality and affordability

We recognize that we need to
help people more directly. That’s why the first thing we
did was lower taxes for the middle class and raise
them on the wealthiest 1%. We’re moving again forward, with
a tax break for low and middle income Canadians, and
nothing for the wealthiest, unlike Mr Scheer’s
universal tax credit. We’re also moving forward by
increasing the Canada Child Benefit which has lifted
hundreds of thousands of families out of poverty,
by 15% for kids under one. We’re increasing the old
age security for seniors 75. We’re making sure that students
have an easier time paying back their student debts by not
having to pay back until they’re making $35,000 a year. We’re investing in Canadians.
