American Society for Deaf Children – RID Cares Recipient 2019

Hi, I’m Rachel Coleman the Executive
Director of the American Society for Deaf Children. ASDC is a 51 year old
organization and is recognized nationally as being the American Sign
Language organization for families raising deaf and hard-of-hearing
children. 92% of deaf children are born to hearing
parents. At ASDC see we believe finding ASL classes and local ASL resources
should be easy. So, in 2019 we are launching a new
program to give our ASDC families the opportunity to meet, connect, and
communicate with Deaf adult role models. We are thrilled to announce that RID,
the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf is supporting ASDC’s efforts on a
national level. ASDC has been selected as the 2019 recipient of RID Cares, their philanthropic initiative that benefits the Deaf community. Thank you RID for
the service you provide, and thank you for honoring and supporting the American
Society for Deaf Children in 2019. If you support American Sign Language for deaf
children, I invite you to join and donate to ASDC today!
