Most of the time people who are born in a community consider its membership to be natural and never ask about the meaning of nation, society, civilization and identity. Perhaps Iran is the only civilization that throughout its long and complicated history has always raised these questions and has given them a powerful answer every time. and that is why Iranian civilization has lasted to this day. Fortunately, today there are many serious questions about Iran and we should all try to find appropriate answers for them Now, what is Iran and where is Iran? Iran is the oldest civilization in the world. That is, farming and ranching has formed in this geography for the first time. Therefore, Iran is the beginning of history Many human experiences such as metalwork, construction of large stone buildings, and formation of villages and cities has started from this region. Therefore, definition of Iran is somewhat tied to the definition of civilization, because Iran is the origin of civilization. On the other hand, Iran is a geographical territory that is confined from the east to Hindu Kush Mountain range from the west to Mediterranean Sea from the north to Caspian, Khwarazm (Aral) and Black Sea and from the south to Persian Gulf and southern coasts of Saudi Arabia Today, however, it is divided into thirty countries with intertwined histories No part of this land has a history independent from other parts Meanwhile, Iran is a unique state, country and nation. Ever since the Achaemenids established the first large inclusive government, 26 centuries has passed. It is more than 20 centuries since a stable state has ruled over this geographical territory. It means that Iran has 5000 years of civilization and 26 centuries of integrated national identity and more than 2000 years of a single state ruling over its territories. However, it is not only a vast old state but also an old rich complicated culture that helps it to be the only civilization that has resisted European modern civilization and has managed to form an aboriginal identity against it. Therefore Iran, in this sense, is a cultural treasury and a very complex historical identity and a treasure of human experience that a large part of today’s world culture is rooted in it and is understood by referring to it. As a result, all the Iranians who has inherited this treasure need to ask themselves what they will do with Iranian civilization. If this question is asked correctly and answered rationally and powerfully it leads to a combination of answers that forms a new definition of being Iranian a definition that is necessary for all the Iranians in today’s world and, above that, for Iranian civilization.
